LIT is dedicated to the self-empowerment of girls in low-income communities by providing the tools to help them make positive life choices, to achieve academic success, break generational curses, and overcome the barriers of racism & sexism
As young ladiesof color we are often counted out before we are counted in. It is imperative that we uplift our young ladies and equip them with skills show them what the reality is. As women we are told to be quiet, be reserved, be this and do that- but when can we be heard?

Jasmin Barnett is passionate about assisting young ladies of color find their purpose in life. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Howard University in Political Science and African American Studies and a Master of Arts in Community Development and Social Justice from Marygrove College.
